Bolton-born singer/songwriter and producer Chrystal is making a triumphant return to the charts with the resurgence of her track ‘The Days’, originally released in 2015 via Polydor Records.
The feel-good house anthem is steeped in nostalgia, and perfectly captures the essence of house parties and late-night conversations, which has resonated far and wide amongst Gen-Z. Listen HERE.
What started as a project that was never to come out has now become a social media sensation, thanks to Chrystal’s my sister, family & friends encouraging her to reupload her album to streaming services. Her own daughter then picked up on the fact that the track was fast becoming a favourite with fellow Gen-Z; ‘The Days’ entered the OCC Singles Chart at #96 last week, and has accumulated an impressive 1.6 million streams on Spotify, currently holding the #9 spot on the Spotify UK Viral chart and #12 on the Spotify Ireland Viral chart.
On TikTok, the track has inspired 28.7k creations and amassed a staggering 71 million total views. In the past week alone, the song has seen an additional 6k creations, and is now ranked #3 on the TikTok UK Top Trending Sounds.
This reactivity is also reflected at SoundCloud, where the track has received a total of 1.6 million plays, with 336,000 new plays added in just the past week, contributing to 20% of its lifetime streams. Remarkably, two versions of the song are currently in the SoundCloud UK All Genres Top 50, holding the #1 and #23 spots. At Apple Music, ‘The Days’ reached #59 on the UK Hip-Hop Top 200 and #102 on the Ireland Hip-Hop Top 200. On Shazam, it has climbed to #70 in the UK Top 200 and #44 in the Ireland Top 200.
Over on YouTube, ‘The Days’ has reached 844,000 views across original uploads and fan-made bootlegs, with 262,000 views added in the last week alone, representing 31% of its lifetime views. The song has also secured the #21 spot on the YouTube United Kingdom Top 100 Music Videos.
Chrystal’s journey in music began 13 years ago when she first took a music production course at college in Manchester. Her first EP ‘All Ur Love’ quickly amassed over 1 million streams, and she continued releasing projects that fuse R&B, House and Garage influences. While life took her in different directions as she focused on family, the recent revival of her 2015 single has reintroduced her music to a new generation who have wholeheartedly embraced ‘The Days’ as a timeless track.
