Release date: TBC Label: MDNGHT Recordings

After No Sleep, Imanbek’s journey with MDLBEAST Records continues. This time as a collaboration with an equally high-profile name. Ali Gatie’s combination with Imanbek results in a stapled happy energy, closing off the summer season with a bang.

Having miraculously broken all possible charts with his multi-platinum Roses Remix, Imanbek (born Imanbek Zeikenov) hails from Kazakhstan province town Aksu and despite his young age of 20 has already changed the history of popular music. Firstly, he became the first Eastern European musician to enter the top 5 of US Billboard HOT 100 peaking at #4 after all. SAINt JHN’s single ‘Roses’ remixed by Imanbek had commenced as an unofficial upload to YouTube and then he was signed by indie label Effective Records in 2019 Now Imanbek wins The Grammy in ‘The best remixed record’ nomination. By this time ‘Roses’ has struck 1,6 billion streams on Spotify, entered the official Top20 most Shazammed songs all time and the unofficial Top100 most streamed Spotify songs all time, topping literally every country’s charts including #1 official single charts in the UK besides staying 13 consecutive weeks as #1 global Shazam top 100 setting proper record of the year and being named Track of Summer 2020 by all musical magazines and authorities.

Ali Gatie writes from the heart, and his unfiltered approach transforms his hypnotic songs into diaristic messages to anyone out there who feels as intensely as he does. “Can’t Give Up,” the Toronto artist's introspective new single off his debut album, WHO HURT YOU? shows just how emotionally rich and moving his music can be. “I could put that song out as a poem, and it would still be just as beautiful,” he says. Gate first gravitated toward writing as a child in the suburbs of Toronto, after his parents emigrated from Yemen. “Iraqi people, we're known for being poets and for making really sad heartbreak music,” he says. Since then, Gatie has resonated with listeners by combining intuitive lyricism with evocative soundscapes. From romantic tracks such as his 3x Platinum 2019 hit “It’s You” to conceptual EPs You (2019) and The Idea of Her (2021), he has soundtracked every phase of falling in or out of love. “The one theme prevalent throughout my whole career was this question of, ‘Who hurt you, man?” he says. Who Hurt You?, naturally, provides answers, digging deep to show his growth as a man and his versatility as an artist. Whether it be one of his R&B ballads or a daring pop single Ali uses the record to push himself to share all of who he is with his dedicated fans. After all, that's his biggest goal, to reach out a hand to people who might feel the same and start a conversation.
