Zara Larsson has today dropped new single ‘On My Love’ in collaboration with record-breaking artist-producer David Guetta. It’s the Scandinavian pop star’s latest release to follow hit single ‘Can’t Tame Her’, and wraps up a summer of touring activity that has taken Larsson around the world whilst she juggles new music with news of her acting debut (Netflix’s upcoming 2024 film, ‘A Part Of You’).
Having first collaborated on ‘This One’s For You’ - the Official UEFA EURO single of 2016 - Zara Larsson and David Guetta make a welcome creative reunion with ‘On My Love’: an Ibiza-ready floor-filler shot through with tangible Swedish melancholy. ‘On My Love’ is launched alongside a stunning video which takes the euphoria of the song in another unexpected direction - it chronicles the sun-kissed day and after-hours of Zara and her sister, Hanna.
Introducing ‘On My Love’, Larsson comments: “On My Love’ is about the relationships you have in your life that mean so much to you that you would put everything on them. Whether that’s a platonic relationship, something with a family member, a lover, a friendship or whatever it is - we all need someone that just brings you pure joy, because that’s what life is all about.” ‘On My Love’ follows David Guetta’s global smash ‘Baby Don’t Hurt Me’ with fellow superstars Anne-Marie and Coi Leray, which has gone Gold throughout Europe and also went top 20 in the UK earlier this year. Currently the ninth most streamed artist on Spotify globally, Guetta won ‘Producer of the Year’ at the BRITs and DJ Mag’s #1 DJ for the third year running ahead of ‘On My Love’ dropping today. 2023 has likewise seen Zara Larsson set her own agenda - in part, by looking back on where she’s come from. ‘Can’t Tame Her’ was a fierce, female-forward anthem that spent over 16 weeks in the UK Top 40, reached number 3 on iTunes, and number 1 on US Dance Radio: a journey all the sweeter given it was also Larsson’s first on her own Sommer House label, following trailblazing deal with Sony which saw the still-just-25-year-old simultaneously take control of her entire recording catalogue. This summer Zara also dropped ‘End of Time’, a cinematic visitation with your younger self and a reminder to always follow that inner drive. David Guetta collaboration ‘On My Love’ video sees Larsson back on the dance-floor but, again, reflecting on those relationships with yourself and others that help form who you are today: in Zara Larsson’s case, that is without doubt as one of modern pop’s most refreshing, endlessly positive figures.
