"Only You" Paul Morrell x Sonique

UK based DJ / Producer Paul Morrell teams up with Brit & Ivor Novello Award winning artist Sonique for their forthcoming single “Only You’” to be released on WA Records on May 26th 2023.

Sonique shot to fame as lead vocalist of 1980s electronic dance band S Express, racking up a series of top 40 hits including “Theme from S Express”, “Hey Music Lover” & “Mantra for a State of mind”, before embarking upon a highly successful solo career. In 2001 Sonique scooped a series of prestigious awards including Best British Female at the 2001 Brit Awards ceremony, fighting off fierce competition from Dido, PJ Harvey & Sade. At the 46th Ivor Novello Awards that same year, Sonique also won the “International Hit of the Year” for her single "It Feels So Good”, from the number 1 album “Hear My Cry”, which also featured the tracks “I put a spell on you” and “Sky”.

After a string of previous releases together, Sonique teams up with fellow DJ / Songwriter Paul Morrell who regularly plays at clubs and festivals across Europe. Morrell has appeared at the 30,000 capacity Weekend Festival in Helsinki Finland, alongside Martin Garrix, Armin Van Buuren & Tiesto, as well as regularly performing on the main stage of Pride Events including Birmingham & London with Dua Lipa, Basement Jaxx, Sigala & Rudimental. He also holds residencies at world famous London Super-club XXL & plays frequently for Ministry of Sound, as well as appearances for Matinee (Barcelona), Opium & Sweatbox (Dublin), Cruz Manchester, Judgement Sunday (Ibiza) and Gatecrasher's prestigious Coventry Cathedral event. During the COVID19 Pandemic, Paul also performed a socially distanced set for Coventry City Football Club's promotion to the championship. The set was streamed live and viewed by more than a quarter of a million people.

As a remixer, Paul achieved a Number 1 single in more than 30 countries with his remix of Sweet But Psycho for Ava Max, which stayed at the top of the UK Singles charts for 4 consecutive weeks, making it the sixth highest selling single of the year. It has since gone on to achieve over 6.5 million Spotify streams and is certified triple platinum in the United Kingdom / Australia / USA. Paul has also produced official remixes for an array of pop acts including All Saints, Kelly Clarkson, Faouzia, Sonique & Troy Sivan. “Only You” features a fantastic remix package, catering for all subgenres of dance music, on Friday May 26th 2023 Paul Morrell and David Zowies remix will be released internationally through WA Records.
