Release date: TBC Label: 4 Chords
Aura has been an outcast ever since she was born and yet she is always the center of attention. Some call her depressive. Some say she’s too honest. They also say she’s talented and beautiful. But why does Aura seem to be “all at once?” She fearlessly walks towards everything she wants to achieve – no matter how impossible it may seem. She jumps into things unapologetically.
Her interest in music and writing was born when she was 4 years old. The moment she was able to hold a pen, was the beginning of creating. She designed her own worlds by writing poems and novels. Early on she developed a talent for reading between the lines. She used to sing along to songs her mother would listen to in her car. Songs by Abba, Roxette or Pink Floyd made her want to understand what it was all about and so, she used her dads computer to find lyrics online. By the age of 6 it was clear to her she wanted to be a musician. Her mom would drive her to open mics in malls and local talent shows. Growing up in a highly success driven household she always tried to strive for the best. This led her to putting a lot of pressure onto herself at a very young age. Her parents were worried about her future and wanted her to focus on getting good grades to someday get a good job instead of following dreams that might never lead to a proper income.
Aura grew up being an only child. Her parents came from two entirely different cultural backgrounds, with different outlooks on how life should be dealt with. Which later became a problem. Heavy fights, arguments, screaming, and silence were daily routine. The fact that the family moved quite often, forced Aura to start over again all the time. Wherever she arrived, she got bullied and harassed for being different. Her interests in writing, music and singing weren’t a match with what the other kids were doing and so she spent most of her time on her own. By the age of 12 she had seen more therapists than most people ever do and lost the will to live. Medication and clinics were normal to her. Her teenage years were filled with trauma and questionable decisions. Moving out of her parents house at 15 she slept on couches of men triple her age. Alcohol and drug abuse made her stop writing and creating. She lost many people to drugs along the way and eventually found her way out of that environment. At 20 she went back to her parents to redesign her life. That’s when she picked up writing and her guitar again. She started to work on her music in silence while going to college.
She started to take music seriously again sending out demos and got in contact with her manager. Her first single landed her a label deal in Switzerland, followed by two other single releases over the course of a year. That relationship ended when Aura felt she wasn’t in the right place and so she walked away to work on her music independently. She released 5 singles that were penned and produced with her boyfriend in her own studio at home. Those singles have been streamed over 200’000 times to date. She grew a massive following on her social media accounts and got on the radar of a producer team in London, where she currently records her debut album. Over the course of two months, she played over 30 gigs in the UK and Switzerland. Melancholic yet fierce, her style reflects her love for rock music and storytelling. She writes on guitar and usually starts with good old-fashioned pen and paper, cradling her instrument while sitting on floors. She landed an enormous amount of praise for her ability to effortlessly discuss topics that others maybe wouldn’t and her unique, evocative, and sometimes raspy yet comforting voice is often compared to legends like Stevie Nicks or Alanis Morrisette.
Born fighter, dedicated musician, and avid lyricist, Aura is a force to be reckoned with simply by being her truest self; this is the breeding ground from which her art is birthed.
