Radio 1's own Charlie Hedges unleashes her new single Silence Your Mind ft Fredrik Ferrier

Legendary radio presenter and DJ Charlie Hedges comes to Perfect Havoc with 'Silence Your Mind', featuring star vocalist Fredrik Ferrier. Charlie creates a large soundscape around Fredrik's dominating vocal performance, with rave-y stab synths and a bassline driven chorus perfect for festival season . Charlie hosts Dance Anthems on BBC R1 as well as the morning show with Rickie & Melvin. She has released on Armada, Spinnin & Positiva and remixed Clean Bandit, Topic & John Summit. Fredrik has released on STMPD, One Seven and several more.

Charlie Hedges - The new host of the UK’s biggest Dance Show BBC Radio 1’s Dance Anthems every Saturday 4-7pm. Bringing her passion and enthusiasm for dance music, Charlie now hosts 2 hours of Classic Anthems and an hour of Today’s Anthems each week. 

As well as Dance Anthems she is also now the new host of BBC Radio 1’s Iconic Live Lounge alongside Rickie and Melvin, a show she has so much love, respect and enthusiasm for which celebrates great artists playing their new and live music on Radio 1, a huge honour!!

Having conquered the airwaves and claiming the #1 National Commercial Breakfast show in London on KISSFM, with the breakfast show’s highest ever reach of 2.2 million listeners , Charlie’s next chapter started in 2019 joining the BBC Radio 1 family Monday to Thursday’s broadcasting 8pm till 10pm.

Charlie by night has toured the globe playing some of the biggest dance events and festivals including a residency with Carl Cox in Ibiza, Amnesia Ibiza, Global Gathering, V Festival, Pacha Ibiza, Isle of Wight Fest and a residency at BH Mallorca playing alongside Craig David, Duke Dumont, Steve Aoki, Axwell and Ingrosso .

This year Charlie’s schedule included bringing her Dance Anthems sound to her sets including playing to full capacity arenas at Boardmasters Festival, New World Fest and Bradford Live, with those bookings already confirmed again for next year, including her debut at Snowbombing Festival.

Charlie has also released various house tracks on labels such as Spinnin Records, Universal Music , Defected Records and a remix of Ella Henderson & Tom Grennan’s – ‘Let’s Go Home Together’ released on Atlantic Records April 2021. With remixes soon to be released before end of 2021 with Rudimental and Clean Bandit.

Charlie is now also looking to venture into the TV world and with her infectious personality, live in the moment mentality, incredible interview and all round presenter skills, we know she can hold her own and finally put a face to the voice we have listened to on the radio for years.

Fredrik Ferrier is a British singer songwriter with Icelandic roots. In 2021 he started working with Spinnin Records, the world's leading dance label and part of The Warner Group. He has sung alongside such prominent acts as Jason Derulo, Natalie Imbrulgia & Nick Mason. Fredrik has collaborated with songwriters who produced hits for Justin Bieber, George Michael, Martin Garrix, Eric Clapton and. He also works with international DJs and producers from Moscow to Hong Kong. His music has been played on Radio 1, Capital FM and across Europe and the USA. He has also featured on Spotify’s New UK Pop editorial playlists. It has also been played on British Television. He rose to fame in the UK by starring in the successful, BAFTA winning television series ‘Made in Chelsea’. His classically trained voice, has a unique tone, unmistakable falsetto and his lyrical bass has an emotional and visceral power. He also plays the piano and violin.
