MK lends his production and remix skills to the Norwegian singer-songwriter, Aurora on the song ‘I Went Too Far.” The song is featured on her latest album ‘All My Demons Greeting Me As Friends,” which, since its release in March, has had over 150,000 equivalent album sales. 2016 has seen her go from strength to strength, with her YouTube views now at over 37,000,000 across her videos and with over 90,000,000 streams across all her tracks on Spotify. Aurora is now set to perform at several of the top UK festivals this summer, including the respected and popular Latitude Festival this weekend. Festival No.6 (which takes place on the former set of the cult classic UK TV spy thriller, “The Prisoner” and the beloved Bestival. Aurora’s biggest UK headline tour to date kicks off in October.
The MK version opens with Aurora’s original hummed melody and verse, over soft drums and subdued chords, MK then puts his signature chop chop layering to the vocals as claps kick in for the build right before the climax of the chorus. MK’s remix version gives the track a total Summery vibe with an upbeat and dancefloor-friendly feel without sacrificing the beauty of Aurora’s original vocals.
This MK offering of Aurora is coming right on the heels of his original production ‘Piece Of Me’ with Becky Hill, which was premiered during Pete Tong’s ‘Live in LA’ event. Annie Mac subsequently gave it her ’Hottest Record’ stamp and it hit #1 on the BBC Radio 1 Dance Chart.
MK’s reputation in the world of productions/remixes is nothing short of impressive, ; his remix of of Storm Queen’s ‘Look Right Through’ hit #1 in the UK singles chart and seemed to define the sound of that summer, whilst his remix of Wankelmut & Emma Louise’s ‘My Head Is A Jungle’ was another huge success worldwide.. His handiwork can also be heard on Lana Del Rey, Ellie Goulding, Sam Smith, Rudimental, Hot Natured, Kant, and Pharrell to name but a few. His version of Rufus Du Sol’s ’Say A Prayer’ is his latest stellar offering.. MK's Area10 brand has been hosting stages at We Are FSTVL, Parklife, Creamfields, Tomorrowworld along with his summer Area10 shows at Pacha Ibiza, MK.
