Sophie Ellis-Bextor back at #1 where she belongs!

Thursday 1st April 2010

The gorgeous Sophie Ellis-Bextor is back with her stunning new single "Bittersweet" and boy is she back!

And thanks to remixes from the mighty Freemasons and Jodie Harsh, "Bittersweet" is absolutely huge in clubland and the reactions say it all.

Now, the Music Week charts are in and Sophie is back where she belongs as this weeks number 1 on the Commercial Pop Charts.

Here's the commentary from Alan Jones:

While moving 21-4 Upfront, Sophie Ellis Bextor is back on top of the Commercial Pop chart for the first time in three years, and the fifth time in all, thanks to Bittersweet, the introductory single from her new album, Straight To The Heart. Ellis Bextor was last on the list is Summer 2009, as guest vocalist on The Freemasons’ Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer) which pulled up a notch short of the top. Ellis Bextor’s relationship with The Freemasons continues – they contributed the lead mix of Bittersweet, which was also given a Jodie Harsh makeover. Her last number one was Me & My Imagination in 2007.

Well done to Sophie and all at Fascination Records.
