Barefoot Confessor - Sampler
Release date: 17/11/2008 Digital release date: 17/11/2008
New London band Barefoot Confessor seem to be on the tips of a lot of people's tongues right now. They don't profess (confess?) to being part of any scene, they've just quietly got on with doing what they do best, penning excellent songs. - Glasswerks.co.uk
Having formed only a few months ago, Barefoot Confessor are already attracting a considerable amount of attention. The West London four piece, recently reviewed as Red Stripes 'Recommended Band' put them in the same column inches as Kings Of Leon and Alphabeat, not at all bad for an unsigned act.
The music itself has drawn many differing descriptions such as the 'missing link between Mcfly and the Libertines' to comparisons to The Beatles, The Smiths and Bruce Springsteen. Its got obvious influences within it but the music is like nothing else around at the moment and with their live shows doing absolute justice to their recordings, Barefoot Confessor are fast becoming a crowd favourite.
"Michael has a superhuman voice that drags you in, and the band keep you hostage. This is early days for a sure to be huge group, but there's plenty on offer to even the most reluctant of rock 'n' roll fan already." Red Stripe Recommends
Recently out of the studio with producer John Fortis (Razorlight, Laura Marlin, Paulo Nutini) the sessions are now doing the rounds
