Manchester-based disco and house producer Swales releases ‘Higher’ , a feel-good track guaranteed to make its presence known anywhere its played, sampling strings from the Inner Life ’s classic ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’.
The vibrant track contains all the hallmarks of a classic Disco groove; syncopated basslines, lush string arrangements and ambient percussion. Featured vocalist RuthAnne channels the verve and spirit of iconic vocalists like Kathy Sledge and Martha Wash helping to complete this authentic homage to a timeless era.
By no means a stranger to the industry, RuthAnne is a singer-songwriter from Ireland who has been working behind the scenes for many years. Britney Spears’ ‘Work Bitch’ , JoJo’s ‘Too Little Too Late’ and Niall Horan’s ‘Slow Hands’ are just a few of the credits on her impressive resume. Elsewhere she’s previously guested on Professor Green ’s single ‘ Remedy’ which reached the UK Top 20 in 2012 and wrote Martin Garrix ’s ‘In The Name of Love ’ amassing over 700 Million streams on Spotify.
Best known for his 2018 EP ‘Night Cuisine’ , Swales is undoubtedly becoming one to watch. With a passion for 90’s-esque house, Swales digs deep to supply a myriad of styles ranging from disco influenced cuts to Italo-house stompers. Having released on Dansu Discs, Slothboogie , Honey Butter and Another Rhythm and his profile steadily rising, Swales has performed across the UK, most notably appearing at Standon Calling Festival and Brixton Jamm alongside Big Miz and Earl Jeffers .
‘Higher’ is a sure-fire hit that will set every club in motion and continue to leverage Swales’ emerging status as a new school producer to watch. With sought-after Animator T oby Mortimer (previous work includes commissions for Loyle Carner, Gregory Porter, Selfridges, Chelsea FC and more), the track is set for release on 8th March on Polydor
