She is known as “The Queen Of HiNRG” and it’s a title that is well deserved. She has been at the forefront of this form of music since ‘Searchin’ (I Gotta Find A Man) hit the charts back in 1988.
Being one of the Stock Aitken Waterman divas was certainly a career plus, which delivered hits like ‘Whatever I Do, Wherever I Go” and “Who’s Leaving Who”, and Hazell has been performing these hits ever since, finding a whole new way to connect with the fans at massive events like “Let’ Rock The 80’s” “Butlins 80’s Weekenders” and at Prides all over the UK.
Hazell joined Energise Records in 2011, and has released three albums and numerous singles with the label, all to a huge amount of praise from fans old and new. Her revamp of her “Winner Takes It All” album where she revisited Abba songs and renamed it Re:Visited was very well received, and over a year before Cher tried it!
All good things come to an end, and so it is with this final single which shows exactly what Hazell does best, taking a classic hit “Because The Night” and giving it her own special HiNRG polish and then adding a brand new song, “Heavenly” written by Hazell Dean and her long time collaborator Pete Ware.
Both tracks have also been re-produced and mixed by Matt Pop, who has worked with Hazell on all her Energise Albums.
It is the end of a very enjoyable era, but what a way to close the book!
